Your hideaway is truly a place where no wish is too big to ask for. The stunning views from every thoughtfully designed room were unforgettable. Being here during the start of the rain season made my room even more enjoyable. This was my first Ayurveda experience and I am certain it won’t be my last. I have never felt so cared for by a team. You created such a safe space where I could completely relax and unwind. My biggest THANK YOU goes to the heartwarming team at Sandaru Lanka. You always seemed to know my next step before I did. No request was too large, no distance (even through the rain) too far and no reminder about medications to bother some. “When I saw the garden with a view of the sea, I was in heaven. Green and bright blue, the combination of the sound of the sea and fluffy soft grass. An absolute must for anyone who wants to really relax. Feasting on rice and curry under the shade of a big tree overlooking the sea was bliss. Being born in Sri Lanka, I could really appreciate how well, carefully and freshly prepared the food was. The staff were incredibly accommodating and made me feel at home. Everyone fulfilled our every wish, no matter how small, spoilt us with delicious local fruit and served us coconut water. I can hardly wait to be back in Sandaru Lanka, in the hideaway on the mountain by the sea, where you can really relax far away from the traffic and mass tourism. A big thank you to the whole team.”

“Dear Susanne, I’ve just come back from the beach, pink snail shells in my hand. The surf is crashing, a light breeze is blowing. I’m about to have some delicious fruit, fresh papaya, bananas and mango for lunch. Everyone here in Sandaru Lanka is unbelievably obliging and our every wish is anticipated – almost before we have thought of it. Thank you so much for sharing this wonderful place and these lovely people with us!”

“The sound of the sea and colourful, sparkling sunsets, a little diamond: in Sandaru Lanka, you live among the locals who fish for a living. You can watch the fishermen in the large bay and linger in the small one. The beautiful green property slopes down to the sea in terraces, where you can relax after an Ayurvedic massage. We also visited the harbour in Maggona with its large fish market and its hustle and bustle. One of the special excursions in the immediate vicinity was a visit under a full moon to the temple with the large Buddha statue. The route to Galle or the Brief Garden are also worthwhile excursions. The upper room ‘Heaven’ in Villa Sandaru with its long window front frames the view of the sea like a picture. Our tasty evening meal at the tip of the bay was often highlighted by the dramatic colours of the sunset. There we marvelled at wonderfully clear nights with full and half-moons.”

“Far away and yet at home: always giving me a smile. Always from the heart. Like the warming sun above everything. The expansive view from Sandaru Lanka directly out to sea made me feel at peace. And I can’t remember the last time I slept so deeply as my body nourished itself. The Ayurveda treatment over four weeks and the daily massages were profound experiences. Plus the friendliness of the therapists. I felt myself again in a wonderful way. I tasted the hospitality of all the people here in the delicious food. And the island’s greenery was so rich on every plate. I realised: I want to think about food life’ all over again. Thank you for these wonderful experiences.”
